Lee Thomas is a broadcaster, author and motivational speaker that travels the world sharing his story while challenging people to live their best life no matter what the circumstances.
As a broadcaster, Lee Thomas' career started in New York City on "Channel One" News, a national news program for teenagers. While with "Channel One", Lee covered the Oscars, the MTV Movie Awards and various entertainment stories which quickly became his niche.
From there, Lee spent a short time on "Louisville Tonight Live", one of the only entertainment magazine shows in the country at the time. Before long, New York came calling again, Lee was hired as the entertainment and feature reporter for ABC flagship local affiliate, WABC 7. After NYC, he was off to Detroit as a weekend anchor and entertainment reporter at WJBK Fox 2 Detroit. Detroit is now the place he calls home. While in the Motor City, Lee has interviewed A-list stars in Hollywood and covered some of Tinseltown's biggest events. He has also won four Emmy Awards as an anchor and producer. He is currently a weekday morning show anchor and entertainment "guru" and a member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA).
Early in his career, Lee Thomas was diagnosed with vitiligo, an autoimmune disease that destroys the skins pigment. It literally looks like a person is changing color. As a television broadcaster that could mean disaster, but Lee says, "The thing that I thought would be a show stopper, turned out to be the biggest blessing in my life." It began with Lee telling his story on TV, because a young man with the disease asked him to do so. As Lee explains, "That young man changed my life."
Lee's story became the memoir, which was taken from his personal journals and experiences. He and his book have been featured on Larry King Live, ABC's 20/20, The Insider, Montel, CBC's The Hour, and various TV, radio and media outlets throughout the world. His story has touched people all over the globe.
Lee's memoir "Turning White" was released through a small regional publisher in Metro Detroit. They were overwhelmed with the attention that Lee's inspiring story has continued to attract since its release in 2007. Thousands of copies have sold and counting. People all over the world have truly been inspired by his powerful story.

Since the release of his book, Lee has been in demand as "one of the most inspiring speakers we have ever heard". From corporate engagements, such as Vanguard Investments and Google, to various charitable organizations, Lee has traveled from San Diego to Milan sharing his story and techniques on overcoming insurmountable obstacles and achieve your best life. His techniques and experience has changed lives. Lee has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
